Magical Budget-Friendly Tips For Visiting Disneyland Paris
Tips and tricks to help your money go further when planning your trip to Disneyland Paris
With 15 million visits a year, Disneyland Paris has overtaken the Eiffel Tower as the most popular tourist destination in Europe. Every day, travellers come to the park to fulfill their childhood dreams. No matter what your age, Disneyland Paris provides you with a spoonful of sugar and memories to fill your heart for a lifetime. However, it doesn’t keep your wallet full. A trip to Disney can be quite costly without the right preparation. So, if you’re looking for a bit of Disney magic without the extravagant costs, check out these budget-friendly tips my friend Sarah has shared...
It’s all about timing
Tourist attractions and activities are priced based on demand. Therefore, when more people want to visit the park, flights, hotels, and train tickets will cost you a lot more. However, if you visit Disneyland Paris during the off-peak season you will find amazing deals during your stay. Plan a trip sometime between the months of January and March. You should also check out international calendars to ensure you’re avoiding travel during any European holiday. Another fantastic way to save money is to book your trip in advance or last-minute.
Stay in an off-site hotel
Many people stay in a Disney resort hotel to obtain the full Disney experience. However, if you want to save your money for the actual park, you may want to avoid staying at a Disney-related hotel. Val d’Europe is a fairly new town about 15 to 20 minutes away from the Disney parks. You can find a nice three to four-star hotel in this area for less than £80 a night. Some of these hotels are even Disney themed to allow you to have the Disney resort experience and offer transportation options straight to the park.
Pack lunch and a poncho
Buying things in the park is never cheap. So, you will want to pack everything you need before heading out to Disneyland. The most important thing you will want to bring is food. It will cost about £10-15 a person for fast food and £30 or more for restaurant dining. You can splurge for one day at a nice restaurant in the park, but you will want to pack snacks and lunches for your other meals. The park allows visitors to bring their own food and has multiple picnic areas where you can enjoy your lunch. This will save you money that can be used to buy that Star Wars lightsaber or Mickey Mouse ears. You may also want to pack a poncho as the park dramatically increases the price on raingear during stormy weather.
Zip through the line with a FASTPASS
Something you’ll learn while you’re in a Disney park is that time is money. You want to make the most out of the money you spent on your tickets and hotel accommodations so it’s important that you ride and see everything you want to without spending too much time in line. Therefore, you should get a FASTPASS as soon as you enter the park. These passes are free and allow you to skip the line for a ride of your choice. To get one, use your admissions ticket and place it into a FASTPASS machine at the entrance to an attraction. You will want to get a pass for the earliest time possible because you can get another FASTPASS two hours after your first pass. Another way to save time in line is to visit popular rides during parades, showtimes, or lunch. During these times many people are away from the lines to enjoy other activities, so you’ll be able to zip right through.
Disneyland Paris makes all of your childhood dreams come true. With the right planning and preparation, you can experience a little bit of Disney magic without stressing about the budget.
