This week, the kids have both been playing on the following two apps:
Starring Me in Old MacDonald Had A Farm by OkiPlay Ltd.
This app costs 99p/$0.99. You begin by uploading a photo of your child’s face into it, and they then become “Old MacDonald”. This really amazed both Sam and Sydney.
Once the initial “Iya Sam” comments wore off, Syd began pointing to the animals and trying to copy their names and the sounds they made. Each “Verse” has it’s own interactive scene featuring the main animal you’re singing about as well as several interactive factors like throwing mud or driving a tractor. It’s a fun app with lots of hidden learning too.
Wake Up Mo! By StoryToys.
This app costs £1.99/$2.99. It is the follow on to “Goodnight Mo,” which we reviewed last year. The app is basically a 3D book. Each page is interactive and shows the reader (or listener as it has optional audio) what Mo does each morning.
It is brilliant for encouraging children into a solid morning routine. It shows Mo waking up, having breakfast, getting dressed etc. Each page is full of interactive surprises. I can’t explain it clearly enough to do it justice, so here’s a video to introduce Mo.
Syd loves this app, it’s well worth downloading if your child loves interactive, fun book style apps.
We were given free access to these apps in order to share our thoughts with our readers. All words and opinions are my own, though.
