In the run up to Christmas, I’m sharing a series of guest posts from bloggers. Today’s guest post was written by Shell from Shelllouise.co.uk Shell’s talking about 3 different family Christmas traditions in her blog post. No introduction required for Shell.….
Family Christmas Traditions
We have many family Christmas traditions and seem to add new ones each year! Here are some of our favourites.
We have a Christmas treat trolley.
The trolley used to belong to my great Grandma, then to my Mama and then to my mum.
I remember it being used every Christmas when I was a child so I was delighted when my mum gave it to me when I got my first home.
We fill it with goodies such as shortbread, lebkuchen, mixed nuts, Matchmakers, Heroes and Celebrations and lots of other delicious treats. It’s KayCee’s job to put the trolley together and fill it with all the goodies. She looks forward to doing it every year 😊
We always decorate for Christmas on the first Saturday of the month. Ant makes everyone, except KayCee (because she doesn’t like them), a snowball drink and everyone pinches the treats or the tree chocolates while we’re decorating!
Every Christmas since their first, I’ve bought Aiden, KayCee and Ella a Christmas tree decoration. They’ve now got quite a collection and they love putting their own decorations on the tree each year.
Advent is always something to look forward to in our house because we have multiple ways to countdown to the big day! Each child has their own chocolate calendar then we have other advent calendars that are shared between them.
We have an activity advent and a book advent. We also have a wooden Christmas scene advent with little drawers, which I fill with tiny felt Christmas tree decorations. KayCee and Ella each have a table top tree and take it in turns to open a drawer and put the decoration on their tree.
Christmas is my most favourite time of the year; my family think I’m a little bit obsessed because I’m planning our Christmas all year round!
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

I love that you guys get a different Bauble every Christmas. We do that too. The idea being the kids will each have a box of special baubles to take with them when they leave home.
Thank you for sharing your family Christmas traditions with my readers, Shell!
