My 4 year old daughter is mad about dolls. She is also a big fan of Play Doh and kinetic sand, so I knew she'd be thrilled when we were asked to review the Lalaloopsy Babies Potty Surprise Doll. It has an RRP of £29.99 and is suitable for children aged 4 and over.

Rather than spending ages telling you what's included and how the toy works, we made this video to show the doll in action...

The doll is hard bodied and definitely not one for cuddling up with. Its hair is solid too so it can't be styled. The belly button is quite stiff, and my 4 year old can't turn this by herself. She didn't mind us playing together though.

A few times during play, the doll did get a little "constipated" and need a bit of help to release her surprise. This was usually caused by over feeding her. My 4 year old absolutely loved the doll and has spent hours playing with it.

My son is 5 and has autism. He too was fascinated by the doll - especially the Lalaloopsy Button Eyes and the dummy!

I love the fact the doll doesn't need batteries - always a big plus in my book! I have had to remove various non food items from Lalaloopsy's mouth, so I'd make sure you store her out of reach to avoid her being broken. (Also... be sure to check the doll's mouth and her potty if one of your favourite earrings goes missing)...!

All told, the doll is a big hit in this house. I can't help but feel she's a little pricey for what she does, but the kids love her, so I'm not complaining about the price tag too much.
