Minnie Magic Turnstyler
Find out what we thought of the Minnie Magic Turnstyler
30 August 2017
- Cute Outfits
- Minnie Is Well Made
- Batteries not included
- Bow sticks when pressing
We recently received a Minnie Magic Turnstyler to review. The set has an RRP of £39.99 and is suitable for children aged 3 and over. It requires 2 AAA batteries which are not included.
Rather than spending ages explaining how the set works, I made this youtube video so you can see for yourself...
As the video shows, the "wardrobe" lights up and plays music when in use. It mixes up the shoes, dresses and bows to create lots of different looks for Minnie Mouse, who is included. The dresses kind of hook over Minnie's shoulders and then there's a small push closed fastener on the reverse of each dress (pictured below).
Syd is 5 and struggled to get the dresses and shoes onto Minnie without help, so don't expect little Minnie fans to be able to play with this set independently. Minnie and her clothes are all good quality and feel well made. Syd loved the detail on Minnie's underwear almost as much as the outfits...
As the video showed, pressing the bow down was a bit tricky. It's stiff and feels like it might break if you push too hard. The catwalk part works really well. Minnie rotates smoothly and stays stood up no matter how fast you spin her.
The clothes rail, coat hangers and pretend camera are all cute additional accessories, but Syd was disappointed that she didn't have another figure to take the photographs while Minnie is on the catwalk. It didn't take her long to rope her brother in to be the cameraman though!
All told, the set is good fun for little ones. I can't help but think it is overpriced for what it is though. If the Turnstyler part rotated easily, it might feel like better value for money, but I don't think the set will remain working for long with my two heavy handed kids around.
We were sent the set to review, but all words and opinions are my own.
