I may have mentioned once or twice that I am a member of the Tefal Innovation Panel… I took Sydney down to Windsor last Month to meet the team and see some of their fabulous products at work.
We also found out all about Fresh Week:
The idea behind Fresh Week is that you pledge to ditch processed food and cook fresh, unprocessed food for your family, from
Monday 13th May until Sunday 19th May.
How literally you take it is up to you. Some fellow Innovation Panel
members are giving up all forms of processed food – including cereal,
tinned food and pre-made bread. I’m not that
I will still be giving the kids their weetabix for breakfast – it has
no additives in it, so surely it’s not classed as a processed food
anyways? I am also going to eat Quorn. I’m vegetarian; so if I ditch
that, I will wither away to a sticky, icky mess – like the gross carrot I
found in a bag of pre-sliced veggies a while back – BLEAH!
If you read my blog regularly, you will know that I have to make a lot of stuff from scratch anyway, thanks to Syd’s dairy and soya allergies. We already bake our own bread, use fresh veg and eat loads of fruit. The main challenge for me will be surviving without chocolate biscuits. I fear I may have to make my own!
Finding time to cook from scratch every day will be challenging too – I tend to bulk cook, then freeze portions for use on busy days – home made ready meals! I am on a mission to find out if I can cook from scratch every day, while living a “normal” life. (Well…as normal as it gets with a vegetarian, a dairy and soya allergy sufferer, a baby with just 2 teeth and a toddler who refuses to eat anything white to cater for).
Tefal have provided me with a Fresh Express Max and a box of organic fruit and veg from Riverford Organic Farms to help us on our way. If you haven’t seen it before, the Fresh Express Max is an electric chopper/grater/dicer kitchen gadget, which has saved me loads of time. I made coleslaw with it, in under 5 minutes!
If you pledge to eat fresh from 13th-19th May, you could win your own Tefal Fresh Express and a Riverford Organic Farms Veg Box, too.
I will be blogging some of the recipes I use, as well as updating you all on how I manage without chocolate biscuits.
During Fresh Week Tefal will be getting the nation talking about
fresh eating. Why not join the conversation, and you could win some
prizes by liking Tefal on Facebook, following them on Twitter and checking out their Pinterest boards.
This is not a sponsored post. I was provided with the Fresh Express Max and veg box for the purpose of the challenge, but all words are my own.
