In honour of it being Roald Dahl day today, I am reviewing: The Magic Finger by Roald Dahl
Before I start, I just want to say I ADORE Roald Dahl books. My favourite is The Twits, but when I read the Magic Finger to Sam recently, it had me in hysterics, so I thought it only fair to share.
A few months ago, I picked up “The Magic Finger” at the library to read to Sam. As a kid, I loved Roald Dahl books, but I had never read this one. I set about reading it that night. This is a brief summary:
The story is told by an eight year old girl. She has a “Magic Finger,” which makes all sorts of crazy things happen whenever she gets angry. She tells us about the mischief she caused when she put the Magic Finger on her neighbours because they went hunting after she warned them not to.
The Magic Finger was published in 1966, so a lot has changed in the world since then. Honestly, the fact an 8 year old girl said she put her “magic finger on them all” had me in stitches. And hubby. I won’t give away the story, as it is completely mad, but rest assured, it is definitely one you’ll enjoy as much as the kids. (More so if they are babies like my two)!
The individual book has an RRP of £4.99 but you can pick it up for £3.49 at Amazon.
I have just ordered the Roald Dahl Collection for the bargain price of £15.99 – The RRP is £93.85, so that’s one heck of a saving! The collection is discounted in honour of Roald Dahl Day, so I am not sure how long the collecting will be available at that price. I am very excited about reading all of these books to the kids in the years to come!
