It isn’t very often that I get to chill out and do my own thing in the evenings. By the time the children are asleep, it’s usually well after 8pm. I then catch up on work, blog, emails, Social media, and before I know it, it’s 11pm and hubby is nagging me to “clock off.” Sunday Night TV is the exception to that.

Sunday Night TV

Since we had the kids, my TV time has been reduced to dramatically. (Excluding cbeebies, of course)! I usually watch about 4 shows a week with hubby, and the stuff I like but he doesn’t bother with all seem to be aired on Sunday Evenings. (Downton Abbey, Call the Midwife, Ripper Street). As a result, Sunday has become my “Night off.”

Of course, Sunday has also become Demon o’clock for the kids. You can guarantee that as soon as I sit down with my cuppa and my chocolate biccies, one of them will wake up. Daddygeek flies up to sort out the culprit, and I sink into the sofa again to continue watching my Sunday Night TV. Then baby two wakes up.

EVERY. FLIPPING. WEEK.

Most people are gutted that Call the Midwife and Downton are off air at the moment, but it actually means less stress in our house. I have decided that before the next season of Downton starts, I am getting a freeview recorder, so I can watch my stuff whenever I like – on the big screen.

Yesterday, I got the kids settled, had a quick bath and then settled down on the couch ready for Call The Midwife… Then I remembered it finished a fortnight ago. Seriously. What am I meant to do now? My Sunday night TV has left the building. Is there anything else out there I should be watching? (I hate reality TV, chat shows, soaps and such like. I love a good drama – as I am sure you’ve gathered by now)!

So… What are you watching?
