I was recently asked to review thehealthcounter.com website and service. I was issued with a £20 voucher to put their online
store to the test, and I have to say I was very impressed. The prices
were reasonable, and there were some fantastic offers, too. I was also
very excited to see they had the holy grail of baby teething aids – Ashton and Parsons teething powders in stock! Any parent will tell
you this stuff is like Gold Dust! I was very excited to have found it at the RRP and with free delivery – (Find out more about this further down)!
I found the website easy to navigate, and the range of stock was great.
Whether you are shopping for reusable nappies or more traditional baby
products, they stock them, and offer reduced RRP’s on many lines.
thehealthcounter.com also stock everything you’d expect to find in a
High Street Pharmacy, including over the counter medicines, toiletries,
electrical products, first aid supplies, mobility aids, sun creams and
I received an order confirmation email as soon as my order was placed,
and then I received another email to inform me my order had been
dispatched. My products arrived 36 hours after my order was placed, and
they were packaged very well. Each item was inside a protective bubble
wrap bag, and all of them were inside a small, branded healthcounter
box. This, for me is the only thing which some customers might not
appreciate. I can imagine their being a few questions if you’d ordered
anything from the “Embarrassing” section, and your other half took
delivery of the parcel.
thehealthcounter.com is an online pharmacy, but they offer much more than the usual over the counter remedies. Services include:
An Online Prescription Service: This allows you to get prescriptions your GP has issued delivered to your door – free of charge. To use the service, you add your prescribed item to your basket, proceed through the checkout, print off your confirmation voucher and then post this, along with your signed prescription to thehealthcounter.com team, who will then dispatch your medicines to you for free. This service is great if you work long hours and find it difficult to get to a pharmacist, or if you live in a rural area and can’t travel to your nearest chemist to collect your prescription personally.
thehealthcounter.com also have the ability to issue prescriptions for certain things too. Their online Doctor provides an online, confidential medical consultation, then they send your prescribed medicines through the post, avoiding the need to visit your GP. This service is available for the following conditions: Hair loss, Stopping Smoking, Erectile dysfunction, Premature ejaculation, STI testing and treatments, Contraceptive pill, morning after pill, blood pressure, Statins, Asthma inhalers and Malaria tablets.
If you live in London, thehealthcounter.com can deliver your order the same day for £9.99 – this is a brilliant service if you are too sick to leave home yourself. Orders placed before 1pm will be delivered between 6-9pm the same day.
If you sign up to thehealthcounter.com’s mailing list, you can benefit from free standard delivery (2-4 working days via Royal Mail) on all orders until 12th August 2012 as well – this is something I have done. With a baby on the way, I intend to take advantage of this to get all of our nappies, creams, wipes, etc delivered for free.
All in all, I’d give thehealthcounter.com website 9 out of 10 in terms
of ease of navigation, layout and customer support – (I emailed a
question about a product and got an answer in less than half an hour).
The services they offer also rate highly with me, and their FREE
delivery service is definitely something I will be taking advantage of
in future! The range of stock is also excellent, and the savings I made
on delivery alone makes it worth forfeiting any loyalty points I might
have received had I purchased elsewhere. I will definitely be shopping
at thehealthcounter.com again very soon.
This is not a sponsored post. I was issued with a voucher to test the website, but all words and opinions are my own.
