Staying safe on the slopes

There are a number of beginner slopes and a brilliant choice of ski schools for visitors to choose from at Val d’Isere Ski Resort. Including the very well established ESF. The majority of the slopes are best suited to intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders. If you’re a beginner or have a beginner in your group, it is advisable to book ski or snowboard lessons to gain an understanding of the basics and start to build a solid foundation. Firstly, lessons not only give you the skills required to slide blissfully down the mountain. They will also make you safer on the slopes, and get you used to the sport with expert guidance from local professionals.

For experienced skiers and snowboarders, La Face is the resort’s most challenging run. It is extremely steep and usually very moguled, so it puts your skills (and bravery) to the test. It is an expert level ski slope that hosts ski downhill competitions. Freestyle fans can also practise their skills and creativity over kickers (jumps) and rails in the Val Park. There is also a freestyle park and half-pipe in neighbouring resort Tignes.
