Today I’m sharing my new school run style inspiration. Last week, I had my first taste of the school run. Each day from here on in, I need to drop Sam at nursery by 8.45 then get Syd to school for 9am. That in itself is going to prove interesting! So with that in mind, today I am sharing some quick and easy School Run Style ideas.

School Run Style

I decided that to speed up mornings, I’d make sure our clothes were sorted the night before. Since becoming a mum, I have morphed into a skinny jeans and Tee type of girl, with only the length of my sleeves, and my footwear of choice changing through the seasons. I thought that Syd starting school might be a good time for me to update my wardrobe.

When Argos offered to send me an outfit from their Cherokee clothing range to try, I was very excited!

I opted for the above look for several reasons: I used to wear denim skirts a lot before I had the kids, and this one looked like it was a decent length. The cheesecloth blouse looked like it would be cool and flattering, so it’s perfect for school run style on a cooler day. The faux fur gilet looked perfect for layering on chilly Autumn school runs.

When it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of all 3 items…

The faux fur Gilet is lovely and warm! It is available in sizes 10-18 and has an RRP of £20. I have seen similar versions of this on the High Street for double the price, and they don’t look any better quality in my opinion. This Gilet doesn’t have any pockets, so it isn’t great for storage, but that’s a small price to pay for something this snuggly!

Autumn Style

The cheesecloth blouse is available in sizes 10-18. It feels really soft to the touch – almost like a thin flannel blanket. This made it really comfy to wear, while still being breathable. Unfortunately, I am tall, and the blouse is definitely not made for tall people. The sleeve length was right, but it didn’t cover my hips. The blouse looked fine under the Gilet though, so I will still be able to wear it, once it’s cold enough. The buttons are small metal balls, and make the blouse look much more expensive than its £15 rrp.

I think I’ll get the most wear out of the skirt. I am already planning on wearing it with knee high boots and tights once the weather gets cooler, so it’s not just for school run style ideas. It’s had a couple of outings already, with bare legs and it was really comfy to wear. It’s true to size and has pockets to the front and back. The skirt is also available in sizes 10-18, and it has an RRP of £15.

Once I have worn the Gilet and Blouse, I will of course update this post. I just wanted to share the range ASAP, before it sells out. (There’s 25% off the RRP’s for a very limited time, so I suspect they’ll be out of stock quickly at these prices). I have got my eye on a few other bits from the collection, and keep making not-so-subtle hints to Daddygeek…!!
