I was recently sent a tub of First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream to review, and I have to say, I love it! Before I give you my blow by blow account, here is a bit of information on the product itself:
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream is a dermatologically friendly intensive moisturiser. It provides relief from dry, itchy, skin caused by pregnancy, harsh weather conditions, dermatitis and eczema. It provides immediate relief from itching and minor skin irritation. It is suitable for use anywhere on the body – even the face. First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream is allergy tested, fragrance free and contains no harsh chemicals. It is safe for sensitive skin and for use during pregnancy.
I have sensitive skin at the best of times, but pregnancy seems to make it worse. My skin has become dry and is looking worse for wear. I have been suffering from an itchy baby bump, due to stretching skin. Since using the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream, I have noticed my skin seems more hydrated, and the itchiness subsides for a good few hours after each application. I have been using it on my hands, face and tummy, and all three are feeling much more hydrated but without being oily.
The tub itself is well presented, and well sealed. (In fact, I had to take a knife to it to break the seal and get into the cream)! The cream feels thick, but rubs in very easily. You are not left feeling oily, either. The cream is meant to be fragrance free, but I could definitely smell a hint of eucalyptus in it. The smell doesn’t linger, though.
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream claims to help prevent stretch marks, and so far so good on that front too. (Though in all honesty, I got none when I was pregnant with Sam either, so can’t say this is down to the cream). My skin does feel more stretched this time around though, so I am hoping it will keep my tummy stretch mark-free.
A 170.1g tub of First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream has an RRP of £20 for a 170g tub. A little goes a long way, though so you shouldn’t be replacing it every month. All in all, I really like it, and would definitely recommend it to any mums to be, and people with mild skin complaints.
