Today I’m sharing the perfect pair wedge sandals for a wedding guest to wear. It’s that time of year when Summer weddings are occurring, and everyone seems to be putting together the perfect outfit. I’m attending a wedding myself in August, so I thought I’d share the wedge sandals for a wedding guest to wear that I’ve found this year.
One thing I’m often accused of is having too many pairs of shoes. I’ve always been the same – even right back in the year 2000 when I left school. I began working immediately, and loved to spoil myself with shoes. It’s a habit I’ve not grown out of. So when Dune London got in touch and offered to send me a pair of shoes to review, I was happy to agree.
Dune London Wide Fit Sandals
Sixteen year old me would have been so excited about this collaboration! I loved the brand even way back then, and I’ve bought more than a few pairs since. I received a pair of Dune London Koali wide fit wedge sandals, in white. They have an RRP of £80, and are available in both white and brown, as well as standard and wide width. They have a cork wedge, with an 8cm heel height, and a buckle fastening.
Dune London’s description of the Koali wedges is:
“Elevate your warm-weather ensembles with our wide-fit Kolai sandals. Crafted from leather, this standout design is certain to exemplify your holiday styling. Detailed with a plaited strap, and a buckled ankle strap offering dimension and support, this style is set on a lightweight cork wedge heel for added height and ease of wear.”
I received these shoes 3 weeks ago, and have been holding out for some sunshine on a day I was free to take photos outside. As of yet, that hasn’t happened. (Typically, I was poorly last week, when the sun finally made an appearance).
Breaking in New Shoes
That hasn’t stopped me wearing them around the house to break them in though. I absolutely loved that the Dune London packaging was fully recyclable, and the slightly cushioned heel. The lining is faux cork and matches the wedge itself, adding to the expensive-look of the sandal.
Excuse my very pink feet in the photo above, but I wanted to show how they look on.
I was concerned that the leather straps would rub, but I’m pleased to say they didn’t. They fit my wide feet comfortably, and in the 6+ hours I’ve worn them around the house, they haven’t caused me any issues. The buckle is attached to a small loop of elastic which allows the strap to move with your foot, so the strap stays snug but doesn’t dig in.
Make Sure Wedge Sandals for a Wedding Guest Have Good Grip Soles
One thing which I was relieved to see was the grip on the sole of the shoe. It’s kind of rubbery, so I’ll be much less likely to slip on the dance floor when I’m wearing them – always a risk in my case!
The D pattern on the sole, is – of course, a subtle nod to the brand name, Dune London. Another little hint that these are a great option if you’re looking for wedge sandals for a wedding guest to wear.
Final Thoughts
All things considered, I really like these Dune London Koali wedge sandals for a wedding guest. I love that I can dress them up for a wedding, but they also look great teamed with skinny jeans for a more casual look. With an RRP of £80, they aren’t cheap, but the quality is great, and they feel like they’ll last a long time.
Overall, I am super happy with them, and I can’t wait for the weather to improve so I can show them off.
