Week 48 – Formalwear for Toddler Girls
I’ve bought the kids a few new bits recently, but getting photos is proving impossible! Last weekend, we attended a family wedding, so I hit the shops! I did it with a budget in mind though – I didn’t want to spend more than £40 as I knew the kids won’t have any cause for fancy clothes again any time soon. After scouring my usual go-to places (H&M, Tesco, Sainsburys, Asda) and coming up with nothing, I decided to nip to Matalan.
I’ve not been for ages, and was amazed at how many beautiful items they have in this season! In the end, I got Sydney a dress (£12), a pair of shoes (£8) and a new bag (£6). I was worried I’d never manage to stick within my budget, but then I found Sam a funky shirt for just £7 which went well with his navy boots and school trousers. I was really impressed with myself as I NEVER stick to a budget – ask my poor, harassed husband!
This week, I’m going to share Syd’s outfit with you. I didn’t manage to get any decent photos of her on the day, as I spent most of it chasing Sam around. This photo of her dancing shows how fluffy the dress is though. It reminded me of a 1920’s dress, the way it shimmied as she walked. It really is more beautiful in real life. The top half of the dress is sheer, but it comes with a matching vest top to wear underneath.
