Hello! Welcome to this week’s Trendy Tot Thursday post. (AKA #TT_Thursday on twitter and instagram). This Children’s fashion photo linky co-hosted by @ClearlyBex and I. Today I”m sharing the DIY Kids Play Clothes I made for Syd.

If you haven’t taken part in #TT_Thursday before, it’s worth reading this intro post to find out how it works. If you’ve joined in previously… You know what to do! You can read, comment and share your own post on the linky below. Don’t forget to share the linky love and read other posts too.

I cannot believe we are on week 50 already! Where does time go? Last week, I LOVED Hello Archie’s Dungarees outfit – It was beyond cute and made my ovaries ache! I also adored the bargain Zara Pinafore shared by Eat Love Live London – I’m not usually a big Zara fan, but this post has definitely spurred me on to have a nosey in store the next time I’m passing.

DIY Kids Play Clothes

This week, I was clearing out Syd’s old long sleeved tops which she will have grown out of before it’s cold enough to wear them again, ready to buy her some new vest tops for messing around in. We are spending so much time at the allotment, that buying her new stuff is frustrating as it ends up covered in mud, and ruined within minutes of the first wear! I decided that rather than getting rid of the old tops, I’d cut off the sleeves and the necks to make her some funky, roll hem vest tops.

She hasn’t worn them yet, but I’ll be sure to share photos on social media when she does. I’m ashamed to say that I’m not usually bothered about saving money. I give all the kids old stuff to friends or charity, then buy new stuff. It was oddly satisfying creating something Syd needed from something I was about to get rid of. Who knew I was an upcycler!!

Thoughts Please

What do you think? Are DIY Kids Play Clothes genius, or cringe fest? Is Syd going to hate me for this when she’s older…?
