Affordable School Shoes
I have come to a conclusion… my addiction to buying shoes has morphed into me being addicted to buying shoes for the kids! Last week, I shared Syd’s new white shoes. This week, I’m sharing Syd’s new school shoes!
I had to buy Sam some new boots online, as he’s gone up a size. While I was doing so, I spotted these bargain shoes for Syd. They had an RRP of £14.99 but were reduced to£6.25 at Sports Direct.
I had intended to buy Syd’s school shoes in Clarks, but after 3 attempts to visit the Trafford Centre store, and each time being told there was over a 30 minute wait to be measured, I decided to take a chance on these affordable school shoes.
Syd has wide feet, so a lot of shoes are too narrow for her. I consulted Twitter and the general consensus was she needed velcro shoes for nursery, so these ticked the boxes. They aren’t leather, which makes me happy as I’m vegetarian and try to avoid leather wherever possible.
Quality?
Of course, these affordable school shoes are not going to have the same quality as Clarks or M&S shoes, which are made from far superior materials, but they are brilliant for the price. Especially when I remind you that Syd’s last Clarks’ shoes were very scuffed and looking tatty in under 3 months. They were white, so scuff stuff didn’t really help.
I didn’t expect they’d be good enough quality for Syd to wear for school, and suspected they’d end up being worn as play shoes, rather than affordable school shoes. However Syd says they are comfy, so I have put them away for her first day at nursery, next month.
***UPDATE***
I am updating this post 4 months bater, to inform you all that Syd’s affordable school shoes lasted for her entire first term at school! They did get scuffed on the toe pretty quickly, but some scuff stuff sorted them right out.
Considering the price, I am over the moon with how well they lasted. I’m only replacing them at this stage because they don’t really keep Syd’s feet warm enough for Manchester Winters. So I’ve got her some cute black ankle boots instead.
I’ll definitely be looking to buy another pair of these affordable school shoes for her Summer term though. She loves them and still says they are comfy. So if your little one also has wide feet, get down to Sports Direct for some of these affordable school shoes!
