Today is day 2 of #Blogtober, and today’s prompt is boobs – in honour of it being Breast Cancer Awareness Month. People all over the world are working together to raise awareness of breast cancer, and the signs and symptoms to be aware of.

Let’s Talk Breast Cancer Awareness:

I feel like a bit of a hypocrite blogging about this, as honestly… Breast cancer isn’t something I spend much time thinking about, and it isn’t something I have been directly affected by. I’m one of the lucky few though! Over 55,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year in the UK. That’s a lot of people! Almost 1,000 of those a month will lose their battle. There’s still a lot of work to be done.

I’m not going to spend ages going on and on about what you need to do, because I’m no expert, and I don’t check myself as often as I probably should. My only saving grace is my teeny A Cups aren’t big enough to hide much from me. I’m pretty sure I would notice most changes sooner than a lady with a more generous cup size. That’s not an excuse though – I should still check myself over more often than I do. I make sure I go for my smear, so this shouldn’t be any different.

This video is great if you don’t know what to look for or how to check.

That’s about it from me today – short and sweet!
