Today’s #Blogtober prompt is, “Never doing that again”. There are so many things I could write about here! One thing which springs to mind is the time I stood in front of an irate driver’s car when he was trying to cut into a queue of traffic. You can read more about this here. I think, instead I will opt for the time I left a job I loved and ended up somewhere awful.
Never Doing That Again
When I was 17, I left college and started an NVQ in care for a lovely company. After a couple of years, I was in what I thought at the time was a very serious relationship with a co-worker. In work relationships weren’t allowed, so I decided to leave my place of work (which I loved).
I took a similar job for a bigger company, paying more money. This company were abusing service users, and within a week, I ended up quitting and reporting them to Social Services. I took on a job in a factory to make ends meet, and quietly regretted leaving my original job. When my relationship broke down, I regretted it even more, and often wonder how different my life would have been had I carried on working where I was. Is there anything you’d say you’re never doing that again about?
