Higgidy Quiches

Sharing is Caring!

I was recently asked if I would like to try Higgidy Quiches and pies. The sun was shining, and it was definitely salad (and quiche) season, so I excitedly agreed!

Before I set off to Sainsbury’s to purchase some, I decided to do a bit of homework. I was amazed at the range, and the story behind the brand. Higgidy pies are all hand made. The Eggs are all free range, the meat is all British and animal welfare is something Higgidy care about, too.

I browsed the range available in Sainsbury’s and opted for 3 quiches, as it was so hot. (They are all Veggie, as I don’t eat meat).

The Little Mushroom & Slow Roasted Quiche cost £2.20. It was the perfect size for 1 person to have for lunch, or to have half of it with a side salad (which is what we did).

We ate this cold, straight from the box. It was delicious! I am not usually a fan of Mushroom Quiche as you can’t usually taste the mushrooms – This was not the case with the Higgidy Quiches! I really enjoyed this, and I will buy it again!

The Spinach, Feta and Roasted Red Pepper Quiche was delicious! The filling was moist, full of flavour and it smelt amazing.

My mouth was watering in anticipation of this quiche. It didn’t disappoint. We had this hot, with Salad, and I preferred it like this.

We had the leftovers cold the next day, and DaddyGeek preferred it cold. It’s tasty, either way though! It cost £2.80 in Sainsbury’s.

The Balsamic Onion & Mature Cheddar Quiche was a bit too strong for me. I love cheese, but this was a bit overpowering in my opinion. Definitely cheese overload!

DaddyGeek still enjoyed it, but it was my least favourite of the 3 Quiches we tried. DaddyGeek enjoyed it hot and cold, and it cost £2.80 in Sainsbury’s.

All 3 of the Quiches had great flavours, the pastry was strong enough to pick up a slice to eat it by hand, and all of them tasted home made to me. They looked much better presentation wise than our home made quiches ever do, and they tasted 100 times nicer than any Supermarket own brand quiche I have tried.

All told, I would highly recommend Higgidy Quiches. We will definitely be getting them again! The Mushroom Quiche was my favourite of the 3.

This is not a sponsored post. We were sent vouchers to cover the cost of the products for the purpose of this review, but all words and opinions are my own.
