If you read my blog regularly, you’ll know Syd loves Cool Maker products. So of course I said yes when we were invited to do a Cool Maker Go Glam Nail Stamper Review. The main set has an RRP of £20 and is suitable for children aged 8 and over. The smaller sets (which are compatible with the £20 set) have an RRP of £10 each. These small sets won’t work if you don’t already have the machine from the £20 set, though.
Go Glam Nail Stamper Review
Rather than spending ages showing you what’s included and how it works, Syd and I made this video so you can see for yourself. Apologies that it’s out of focus in places – New camera problems!
As the video shows, the Go Glam Nail Stamper works really well. I was genuinely shocked at how great the stamper worked. You do need to tighten the transfer rolls after each impression, but aside from that, it’s flawless!
In the video, we didn’t apply top coat, but once it’s been applied and left to dry, the nail art stays in place for several days. We did Syd’s nails over half term, and she got 4 days out of them before they had chipped enough to need removing and reapplying. There is no nail polish remover included, so you will need to buy this separately.
Tips and Tricks
Firstly, the transfers will only work with the included nail polish. This is because it’s designed to be tacky, so the transfers stick to it.
Additionally, the transfers will peel off if you don’t use the included top coat. I’d recommend applying two coats of this. It’s none toxic, which is great BUT this makes it less durable than standard top coat.
Thirdly, make sure the inserted finger tip is flat to the base of the transfer machine. If it’s even slightly raised, the transfer won’t work properly.
Finally, make sure you have a pencil to hand to tighten the roll of transfers in between each nail. I found it easier to do it this way, rather than mess up a nail and have to start from scratch.
All told, I really like the Go Glam Nail Stamper. I love that you can buy the refills so easily, and that the set works without the need for batteries. Additionally, the fact it’s non toxic is a big plus too. You do need some patience to start with, and you must let each layer dry for the required amount of time, or it won’t work. As long as you follow the instructions fully though, it’s easy to use and has fantastic results.
