I was recently sent some Sudocrem Sunscreen Mousse (factor 50) to review. I was very excited about it’s arrival as I really struggle to find sunscreen I am not allergic to.

Sudocrem’s Sunscreen Mousse is Hypoallergenic, and it has a semi-permeable layer which allows your skin to breathe. (Perfect if you usually get a horrible red rash from blocked pores, like I do).

It is fair to say there has been zero sun in Manchester recently, so I haven’t really tested the sun protection yet, BUT it has more than passed the allergy test and the waterproof test.

You don’t need to spray a lot either – this was what I got from a very quick squirt. It covered both of my arms from the elbow down, and both hands.

It rubbed in very easily, and left my skin feeling moisturised, without greasiness. I could tell I had sun cream on, but my skin felt pleasant, not oily. The sun screen is colour and fragrance free, so there’s no tell tale scent to attract Mosquitoes – another plus for me.

I then decided to have some splishy splashy fun with Sam to test the water resistance of it. After 20 minutes’ play in the bath, the sunscreen was still definitely in place. (It does say reapply after swimming and towel drying on the instructions though). I have rubbed a bit onto 10 month old Sam, and he seemed happy that it took less time to apply than his usual stuff which needs to be rubbed in for ages. There was no transfer onto his clothes either – RESULT! (I put it on his arm, rubbed it in for 10 seconds then left him).

The Sudocrem Sunscreen Mousse retails at £15, but it does seem like it will go a long way. One thing which I was especially pleased about was the fact the can clearly states it has not been tested on Animals. I like to know no animals were toasted in the testing process.

Obviously, the main reason we buy sun screen is to protect us from harmful UV rays. As I live in Manchester, I have no idea if or when I will be able to test the effectiveness of this sun screen, but I will update this review in due course. In the mean time, I give it 5/5 on the ease of application, 5/5 on being hypoallergenic and 5/5 on being water resistant.
