We were recently sent a Fisher-Price Dora and Friends toy selection to review. Inside our box was a Dora Smartphone (£9.99), a Magic Charms Bracelet (£9.99), a Dora Magic Adventure Charms set (£7.99), and 2 of the Dora & Friends Dolls (Dora and Alana) – £10.99 each.
Dora and Friends Toy Review
The smartphone came with batteries included. You press the screen and a light flashes, and you hear Dora and her friends. They speak in English and Spanish. Sam really took to this and has been carrying it around with him. It is quieter out of the packaging than it is when in test mode – thank goodness! The screen has an old skool hologram finish – remember those? A different picture displays depending on the angle you are looking at it.
The Magic Charms Bracelet set is a blue bracelet with charms showing each of the main characters. You also get 5 adventure charms, plus a special mystery adventure charm included. The set also contains 2 rubber bracelets so your little Explorer can share some adventure charms with their friends. The Dora Magic Adventure Charms set came with a rubber Dora bracelet, 3 adventure charms and a small Dora figure.
Syd’s thoughts
Sydney has spent ages rearranging the adventure charms. She’s had the rubber bracelets on her ankles as well as her wrists. She’s not been very keen to share them, but she has loved having a bracelet of her own, like mummy.
The Dora and Friends Dora and Alana dolls each come with an Adventure charm. The Dolls are approximately 8 inches tall, and have removable clothes and shoes. Each doll can stand unsupported when wearing its shoes. They have moveable legs. Arms and heads. Alana’s shoes do fall off quite a lot, and Syd has been frustrated by this quite a lot. We found that swapping Dora and Alana’s shoes solved this problem, though.
Syd has loved doing their hair and sitting them down to watch Dora and Friends with her. She is especially taken by Alana, and I suspect she will be asking for the other 3 character dolls for Christmas!
My Thoughts
All told, Syd loves the Dora and Friends toy bundle. She hasn’t played with anything else for 3 days now! I’d recommend them for any Dora and Friends fans. They are available to purchase from Smyths Toys.
