As a parent, I am always looking for fun ways for my children to learn. They both enjoy watching the Clangers on CBeebies, so when I was asked to review the first issue of the new CBeebies Magazine, I said “YES” without hesitation.
Issue 1 of Clangers Magazine
The new Clangers Magazine costs £2.99 per issue, and is a monthly publication. It is aimed at children aged 3-6 years, and is packed with stories and educational activities.
Rather than describing everything to you, I thought I’d make a video so you can see the magazine for yourself…
As you can see, the Clangers Magazine contains plenty of fun (and educational) activities. My 3 year old especially enjoyed doing the sticker activities. She also spent a lot of time the colouring in and pen control pages. We sat down and read the story together, and I liked the fact there were little ideas for parents to further expand on the story with their kids.
The free gifts were a plastic “tin whistle” and a plastic “Tiny Clanger” figure. The whistle was really hard to blow, but this meant the noise was quiet enough not to drive parents crazy. The figure was cute, and hopefully we will end up with the full set of Clangers characters as future issues are released. Sam took a shine to the whistle and has been carrying it around for days now!
All told, I think the magazine itself is a great tool for encouraging learning at home. I’d definitely recommend the magazine for any Clangers fan aged 3-6. Finally, if you have enjoyed this post, why not check out more of my reviews here.
We were sent an advance copy of the magazine and given a 12 month subscription in exchange for this review. All words and opinions are my own.
