Last week, I was asked if I’d like to be an ambassador for the brand new North-West family festival in Tatton Park. After reading a bit about the event, I eagerly accepted.
I thought I’d share the event schedule with my readers tonight, as tickets are now available to purchase!
Geronimo is taking place over the May Bank Holiday weekend (Sat 23 – Mon 25 May) in Tatton Park, Cheshire. It is set to deliver an exciting programme of acts, experiences and adventures, making it sound like a fab idea for a family day out.
Festival Director Simon Goldman said: “As a father of seven, I know how hard it is to find quality days out that cater for the whole family. With Geronimo, we’ve created a festival that’s going to keep the kids entertained all day long, and create memories that will last a lot longer.”
The Adrenaline Zone will be kitted out with a high ropes course. Tree climbing, den making and a thrilling zip line that will reach speeds of up to 60KPH will also be accessible in this area – I hope Mummy’s are allowed on this!
Sam and I attended a We Are Adventurers class about 18 months ago and he loved it. I cannot wait to go to the den building session with him at Geronimo. (Mostly so I can learn how to build a “proper” den, but I’m sure Sam will enjoy it too)!
For those who like things a little more relaxed, there’s also plenty of storytelling and the chance to picnic with characters from Alice in Wonderland – Sydney will definitely be in her element here.
Creative kids can join in the many craft workshops in the Funky Junk Zone. Activities will include things like cookie decorating and buggy makeovers. A little birdie tells me I should be prepared for a glitter overload in this zone.
The Circus Zone will have performing aerial trapeze artists, and clowns. I’m terrified of clowns, so you probably won’t find me in here! You can brush up on your circus skills at the circus skills workshop, or catch the family classic Punch & Judy shows that will be taking place daily.
Rumour has it there will also be a pop-up petting farm, giant sandpit, camel rides, bubble shows and a super bouncy inflatable village in the 3ft & Under Zone. I suspect my Sam Sam will be VERY excited when he sees Sam Sam the Bubble Man’s giant bubbles!!
TheGroovy Zone is set to offer activities including zumba workshops, dressing up areas, dance classes with Baby Ballet and a Disco. I suspect Sam will want to bop ’til he drops in here.
Visitors are also invited to join a host of big names on theGeronostage. Mr. Bloom will be performing live on stage twice a day, and CBeebies ‘I Can Cook’ presenter, Katy Ashworth will also be making three daily live stage appearances. Daily meet and greets are also available – I know Syd in particular will LOVE this! More live acts are expected to be announced soon.
Geronimo is aimed at families with children aged between 2 and 12 years old. (Under 2’s go free). Geronimo Early Bird tickets went on sale today, priced £16pp. If (like us) you have someone with special needs in your party, then a carer gets in free – Full info here!
Lots of activities will take place in marquees, so hopefully Ponchos won’t be required! Food is available to buy from vendors, or you can take a picnic along with you. To purchase tickets and for more information visit geronimofest.com or follow on Facebook and Twitter.
This is not a sponsored post. We are attending the festival as guests, but I wanted to share the event in advance.
