This year will be my 5th Mother’s Day without my Mum here to spoil. The past few have been really hard, so I have pretty much ignored them. My 8 year old daughter isn’t going to let me get away with that this year though. She’s already mentioned that she is looking forward to spoiling me. So I’ve decided it’s time to stop focussing on my mum’s absence, and instead allow my kids to make Mother’s Day memories of their own. With that in mind, today I am sharing some personalised Mother’s Day gift ideas. Read on to find out what I’ve found.
Personalised Mother’s Day Gift Ideas
One thing I have always wanted but never got round to buying for myself is a locket. So when I was asked to review this silver heart locket, I was happy to agree. LoveLox not only sell stunning lockets, but you upload your chosen images, and they’ll print, cut and insert them for you, too!
The locket can have a personalised message engraved on it. I chose “love always”, which is something I say a lot, as you never know when the last time you’ll get to say it or hear it will be. I added two of my favourite photos to my Lovelox locket. One of Sam and Syd hugging last summer, and a silhouette of them loving the sea, last Autumn. It’s sterling silver and feels really well made. I’ll definitely be ordering from them, next time I want to buy a loved one something special. They are perfect for Valentine’s Day too.
Personalised Filofax
If your mum loves to make lists and keep her diary on paper…Chances are she would love a Filofax. A personalised Filofax is even more special. There are loads of different options available too. Whether you just want to add your Mum’s initials, so she doesn’t lose it. Or alternatively, you could add a short message. Which is your favourite?
Personalised Chocolate
You can never go wrong with chocolate, where I’m concerned! Many chocolatiers now offer personalised chocolates though, to make their tasty produce even more special. I loved this customisable love heart from Thorntons.
With an RRP of just £8, it’s easy to see why they are so popular! If your mum is more of a Cadbury fan, don’t worry… There’s plenty of personalised options available from Cadbury Gifts Direct as well!
Photo Socks
I received some photo socks with my dogs’ faces on for my birthday last year, and I absolutely love them! They make me smile every time I look at my feet. So if your mum is a fan of funky socks, I’d definitely recommend these personalised face socks from Firebox.
They are available in UK size 4-7 or UK size 8-11. So even big footed mums like me can be spoilt with these hilarious socks. The RRP if £19.99, so they don’t break the bank either.

I spent many years without my mother hating mothers day but then I just let the kids take control and spoil me and now it’s fantastic.
That locket is beautiful. Such a lovely gift and those photo socks did make me chuckle. What fun x
Hugs to you xx This is my 5th year without my mum and 14th without my Dad. It’s not easy, but they wouldn’t want us to be sad. XX
Honestly, the photos don’t do the locket justice. And as for the socks… BEST… SOCKS… EVER…!
